My aim is to help you to build a better, more profitable accountancy practice.
I can do that in three ways:
- By reading my blog which will focus on building a better practice.
- By joining one of my Accountants Mastermind Groups.
- By one to one marketing and business coaching.
My Background
I am a chartered accountant, I trained with what was then Neville Russell and is now Mazars in Birmingham and West Brom and I've just realised it is virtually 25 years ago to the day that I left.
I then had ten years working in industry and commerce as a very commercial accountant and for the last five years Finance Director with responsibilities for sales, buying, production planning and stock control as well as finance and IT.
15 years ago, in March 1995 I started a new career as a self employed consultant, coach, trainer, part time finance director and interim manager. In all those years I have never applied for a "proper job" or gone onto the books of a recruitment agent.
I'm proud of that and while it hasn't always been smooth sailing, I am very glad I had the courage to start up in business.
What I do is difficult to pin a label on as I bring together finance, strategy, marketing and process improvement skills - it's a combination I call profit coaching.
Since being self employed I have completed my Master of Business Administration with Distinction from the world famous Manchester Business School.
I am also a Certified Guerrilla Marketing Coach. If you are not familiar with Guerrilla Marketing, it is the world's biggest brand of marketing advice for small businesses with over 20 million books sold in the world.
How I Can Help AccountantsAccountants are often uncomfortable at marketing and promoting the accountancy practice so I can help improve your marketing campaigns, both online and offline.
Perhaps the biggest challenge is moving from being viewed as a commodity service - accountants are all the same - to being seen as the obvious choice for special groups of clients.
The Accountants Mastermind is an idea I am particularly excited about.
It's bringing a small group of independent sole practitioners and two partner firms together to share ideas about how they can attract, convert and keep clients and develop a more effective and efficient accountancy practice.
I'll be telling you more about the Accountants Mastermind soon.
