I remember when I was studying Leadership for my MBA, I found one article that really clicked with me. Most of what I was reading was about the leader, the boss, but this one article looked at the leadership challenge from the employees or follower's position.
It asked and answered the question "what does a follower need to decide to follow a leader".
Fascinating stuff and it is always a good idea to try to put yourself in the other person's shoes - and that particularly applies if you want to be seen as a caring and considerate boss.
