This project management book is a short guide which explains the basics to anyone who has to manage a project for the first time or forms a very nice refresher for someone who is experienced in project management but hasn't managed a project for some time.
It is another of the "...in a week" series like "Profit Improvement In A Week" and "Neuro-Linguistic Programming In A Week".
Think overview, broken down into bite sized chunks rather than a 400 page heavy text.
The week breaks down into:
- Sunday - the nature of the project
- Monday - project initiation
- Tuesday - project organisation
- Wednesday - detailed planning
- Thursday - controlling projects - monitoring
- Friday - controlling projects - taking action
- Saturday - personal qualities of the project manager
"Project Management In A Week" is recommended for anyone who is looking for a light introduction to project management - I rate it at the 4 star level which is a read/buy recommendation.
