Scientific Advertising is considered to be an all time classic direct response advertising and copywriting book and when you read it, you can see what a big influence Claude Hopkins has been on Jay Abraham.
The book is over eighty years old and its contents is still very relevant today.

Tested Advertising Methods by John Caples
I have just finished reading "Tested Advertising Methods : Fifth Edition" by John Caples and revised by Fred E. Hahn.
No wonder it is considered a direct response marketing classic.
Apart from a little too much repetition, I think it is a terrific book.

All You Need Is A Good Idea by Jay Heyman
Initial Assessment
I like receiving presents and one of the nice things about becoming established as a blogger is that people contact me and say "Would you like a free copy of X to review?" I get my ego massaged and then a few days later the postman turns up with an exciting looking parcel. Today's present is "All You Need Is A Good Idea: How To Create Marketing Messages" by Jay H. Heyman.

Jay Heyman is co-founder, president and award winning creative director of Porte Advertising, an advertising agency in New York and there is a blog focused on the book.
The book may even answer one of those life paradoxes
