I have today cancelled my subscription to iLearning Global.
The iLearning Global Cancellation
All it takes is an email saying you want to cancel your iLearning Global subscription which you send to iLearning Global support.
Within hours they email you back with the confirmation of cancellation.
Nice, easy, simple and quick - just what I would expect from iLearning Global.
So Why Am I Telling You I Have Cancelled iLearning Global?
Simple. I want you to know that iLearning Global is easy to try and if you decide you don;t like it, you can cancel your iLearning Global subscription without any difficulty.
That's certainly my experience on April 20th 2009.
I suspect that many people are tempted by the iLearning Global offer but are put off by the idea of being trapped in a long commitment.
It's something that I don't think the iLearning Global website makes clear.
Why I cancelled iLearning Global
I cancelled for several reasons:
- I expected to be able to cover my subscription fees quickly by getting other people to join up. Unfortunately that didn't happen. From what I have seen - and that of those who signed under me for iLearning Global, it is not a particularly easy sale.
- The iLearning Global website is not progressing as quickly as I would have liked. The videos are excellent but the supporting structure is not yet in place to explain the benefits of watching the videos.
- I have other things going on in my life at the moment - some good and some not so good - but the end result is that I don't have the time to devote to iLearning Global, for watching/listening to the resources included or to market iLearning Global effectively.
Unfortunately I was stuck in the situation where I was not benefiting from the training materials or from the commercial opportunities and I couldn't see that situation changing in the foreseeable future.
So I applied Brian Tracy's zero based thinking approach.
Knowing what I know now, would I still join iLearning Global?
And the answer I got back was "No", so I knew what I had to do.
Will I rejoin iLearning Global?
Yes I think I could.
I still think the basic idea of bringing the best experts and trainers together is a great one.
But I am not sure I would join as an iLearning Global marketer.
My blogs rank well in Google but I haven't been able to get my ilearning Global blog onto page one of Google. OK I have not devoted that much time to it but it won't be easy.
I still have a distaste for the MLM model. From my perspective it doesn't reward my efforts enough and financial success depends on what happens further down the chain.
I had several ideas which could have exploded the network under me, but I couldn't transfer my enthusiasm to other people and I know that the stigma of networking marketing is one of the obstacles in the way.
Have You Cancelled iLearning Global?
If you have cancelled your iLearning Global membership or you are thinking about it, please leave a comment about your impressions.
I will be very interested to read about why you have decided that iLearning Global isn't for you, either as a training product or as a business opportunity.
Joining iLearning Global
It may seem strange but I am leaving the link to join iLearning Global on this blog.
Where you see ilgtraining.co.uk, this is now pointed at Sarah Howell's site, Sarah is one of the people in Brian Tracy's staff. This is important because it means that you can still join and benefit from the resources that Brian Tracy International are bringing to you.
Alternative Training to iLearning Global
I withdrew from iLearning Global but I have been a member of Simpleology for about three years. It doesn't cost anything to join and there is some excellent training.
A lot is free - at least at the first stage - and then you buy what you want. The website undersells the benefits. Joining Simpleology is strongly recommended for anyone with a business. Start with the Simpleology 101 course and the excellent best selling marketing book The Irresistible Offer now available FREE.

I got a phone call today from someone who found my CV on Monster (a job website). He seems like a genuine enough chap, but the moment he started the pitch about I Learning, I thought "oh great, how much is this going to cost me?"... Then, "how soon before I realise I'm not even getting my investment back.."
This is certainly NOT a scam, but it's not a real money maker either. You need the people below you to be as motivated as you are, or you'll barely make your initial investment back in the first year. Let alone the 20+k a month they tease you with in their promotions video..
I'm going to continue with developing my own DIY website style videos on my own blog. It's early days yet, but I reckon I'll make more money under my own product, than trying to sell a MLM product!

Lee
Thanks for your comment about iLearning Global.
I have tried to make my positional clear from the beginning.
iLearning Global is a very good training product with the potential to be outstanding.
But I don't like the MLM structure which I think turns people off and doesn't provide enough reward for the seller.
Good luck with developing your own information business. I do nicely out of some of the affiliate programs I promote and I help my readers discover some excellent products they may not otherwise know about.

If you have decided to cancel your membership of iLearning Global, I would appreciate a comment to explain why.
Were you a marketer who couldn't sell it?
Were you disappointed with the quality of the training?
Did you think that it wasn't worth the monthly membership fee?
