The Core Influence video is the first thing you are supposed to watch when you get your copy of Mass Control from Frank Kern.
I was a good boy and slipped it into the DVD player and I was "disappointed" to discover that it is the presentation from Rich Schefren's New Beginnings conference in February 2008.
I had hoped that this would be a new or different presentation as I have the New Beginnings DVDs and had watched this video on Core Influence twice before.
Silly really because I do understand why Frank Kern wants his new Mass Control subscribers to learn about core influence.
Even Frank describes it as a mix between:
- Heavy duty psychological stuff
- New age self help stuff
- How to make money
I am not going to reveal too many of the details but it is based around the idea that each of us have two identifies:
- Our shell identity - the role we play in society based around our own real life situation.
- Our core identity - who we really want to be.
It then moves into the idea that to be truly effective we need to find out core identity and use it to communicate directly to the core identity of our market.
You and I are not who we think we are and the Core Influence video has an exercise to help find the core identity which you can then project on to your typical customer.
Do you remember the Monty Python sketch with the accountant who wants to be a lion tamer?
That's an example of finding your core identity - it wasn't what he thought he wanted to be. As an escaped chartered accountant, this video does resonate with me - although banking may be a little too exciting at the moment.
Franks ideas about Core Influence and Core Identity are more much more positive but you have to get beyond the superficial, surface level.
Here is a short snippet of the Core Influence video as a taster I found on YouTube.
If You Want More About Mass Control
If you missed the Mass Control launch, I recommend you get on Frank Kern's email list because he has occasionally opened Mass Control up again for one day specials.

I actually liked the core influence video. I think it makes you do something that many folks never do, think. And more importantly, it forces you to think about "happiness" which is often associated with physical things.
Anyway, I really liked it but it was my first time seeing it as well.
