June 2009 Update - Launch of the Guided Profit System 2.0
I originally wrote this blog about the September 2008 launch of the original Guided Profit System but the page is receiving a lot of hits from people interested in the new, improved GPS 2.0 which is launched on Thursday June 11th, 2009.
What I wrote is still worth reading but I fought that I should briefly summarise the current launch.

The report, the Uncertainty Syndrome has been upgraded slightly but without doing a page by page comparison, the only changes I could see were on the last page introducing the Guided Profit System coaching as the solution Rich Schefren described. If you read the last version, then you don't really need this version as well but if you didn't, the free report is excellent Uncertainty Syndrome
There is also a 60 minute video with Rich Schefren and Todd Brown (Strategic Profits VP of marketing) discussing the issues of constraints and how to resolve them which is well worth watching. On the same page, you will also find case studies from original Guided Profit System clients who explain the difference the coaching - and recognising and relieving their constraints - made to them.

Last but not least, the Guided Profit System 2.0 coaching opens on Thursday June 11th 2009 and the sales letter will appear - GPS sales letter
What is not yet clear is whether the Guided Profit System is a launch product or an evergreen product.
The first GPS was a traditional launch - it opened, lots of people bought and then it closed and no matter how much you wanted it, you could get it.
Rich's premium coaching program - the Business Growth System - is an evergreen. You can join it any time you want.

The Original Guided Profit System Blog Post
In the new report from Rich Schefren, either called The Uncertainty Syndrome or The Entrepreneurial Emergency, Rich has revealed that he will be unveiling a new coaching program - the Guided Profit System or GPS for short.
The original coaching program - the Business Growth System - which changed the lives of many of the Internet gurus we now regard as the major players in the "make more money from Internet marketing" sector was excellent.
I know because I signed up to the Business Growth System coaching from Rich Schefren in March 2007 and finished the final module around March time. It was a heavy duty intensive program that covered a lot of ground.

Guided Profit System
This is what Rich Schefren says on page 58 about the Guided Profit System:
"I'm going to take a select group of entrepreneurs and for 30 days personally walk them through the process of blasting away every constraint that is now blocking their paths to the success they crave."
This is a strictly limited and intensive coaching program which Rich Schefren himself says "won't be cheap" and "isn't for everyone".
The Guided Profit System was launched on Thursday September 25th 2008.
How Intense Is The Guided Profit System?
This is how Rich Schefren describes the Guided Profit System - "this program is intended solely for serious entrepreneurs who are willing to work as intensely on their businesses as I am -- and who will actually USE my personalized instruction, advice, methods, and strategies to obliterate any and all constraints currently standing between them and the success they desire."
Sounds good but sounds tough. Are you really committed to your own success?
Guided Profit System Is 30 Days Of Massive Action
Rich Schefren is proposing to work with you for 30 continuous days in the Guided Profit System which he has found to be much successful than more drawn out courses.
From my own coaching experience I can see advantages and disadvantages in this approach. It raises the Guided Profit System coaching up from being one of the things you will do to the MOST IMPORTANT thing you will be doing over the thirty days.
I like the focus and the priority rating and can see that those who choose the Guided Profit System and can commit their time to it will become really immersed in the ideas in the same way boot camps work.
I also know that it may put many people off who can't bring "working on their business" to such a high priority when they have to work in their business to keep all the wheels turning.

Future Developments in the Guided Profit System
Rich Schefren has made it clear that this version of the Guided Profit System is a pilot for a much bigger coaching project next year which will be the automated Guided Profit System.
So yes, you will have another chance to benefit from the Rich Schefren profit building ideas but here is the rub:
- You won't have the same access to Rich Schefren
- The intention is to release the automated version at a higher price
On that basis, it doesn't seem to make sense to delay if you are a serious Internet entrepreneur.

I am fascinated by the launch process and the copywriting in the emails so I like to share as much as I can with you.

If You Bought The Guided Profit System...
This was the first major program from Rich Schefren that I missed - I own the Business Growth System, the Business Acceleration Program and the Maven Marketing program but I was away on holiday when the main action was happening for the Guided Profit System.
So if you bought the Guided Profit System, I would be very interested to read your thoughts.
I was talking to one person last week (May 2009), comparing and contrasting the Business Growth System and the Guided Profit System but we had each just done one and not the other.
She was certainly very impressed with the Guided Profit System and we both agreed that Rich Schefren is an extremely clever chap who delivers great material.
My Thoughts On The Guided Profit System
I buy most of Rich's stuff but I missed GPS in September 2008 and I'm probably not going to buy it in June 2009 either.
At the moment I am very clear on where I am going and have four courses that I am using for the launch of my own membership site - Mass Control, Product Launch Formula, Eben Pagan's Guru Home Study and Armand Morin's Internet Marketing complete.
I don't feel I need the Guided Profit System - although you could say I am suffering from information overload as I have to produce my own information product as well.
I am very familiar with the underlying ideas of the Guided Profit System since Rich Schefren admits that it is based on the Theory of Constraints by Eli Goldratt.
I first read The Goal, Goldratt's first book in the late eighties when I was working in manufacturing. One of my responsibilities was production planning and we even hired a Theory of Constraints consultants to help us.
Since then I have used TOC in my training and consulting and there is a constraints module in the Business Growth System. I even have one of my own Hidden Profit modules focused on Constraints and Creativity as well as the idea of working on your constraints being an underlying philosophy of my Eight Pillars of Business Development.
I am intrigued by what Rich Schefren has done with the Guided Profit System and how he has taken the ideas and applied them to Internet marketing but for me it's intellectual curiosity.
However I do see tremendous value in the ideas behind the Guided Profit System and it could be just what you are looking for.
It is a persuasive argument that you already have big potential but you are being help back by one of more big, heavy rocks and if you can just break the link, your performance will accelerate quickly.
It is also very powerful to think that any improvement you make away from the constraint in your business system, is an illusion. If the constraint is limiting your performance, then only acting on the constraint will produce results.
