The Net Effect Volume 1 Issue 2
Mixed fortunes from StomperNet with the launch of The Net Effect journal and Stomping The Search Engines 2. Not only did they have the embarrassment of their server crashing for many hours at launch time, they have had plenty of fulfilment problems due to the number of people who signed up.
I don't know if these problems have contributed but when I look at my affiliate statistics, the majority of people have taken the freebie Stomping The Search Engines and run. That's right they have bailed out of The Net Effect before they have to start paying.
It Is Crazy To Cancel The Net Effect
The Net Effect is the first chance to learn what's happening in StomperNet at an affordable price and personally I think it is crazy to jump out so early. It's not like it's a premium subscription but I guess that many people aren't really serious about developing their Internet business.
That probably means that they are not going to implement the ideas from Stomping The Search Engines which have transformed my traffic and sent my Alexa rating soaring.
The Net Effect Volume 1 Issue 2
Later than expected, issue 2 of The Net Effect arrived yesterday (I am in the UK) and the articles I've read are excellent.
Jerry West has written SEO In A BOX, a clear step by step process showing how to do SEO on a keyword phrase. Some of this was in Stomping The Search Engines, some wasn't but I have picked up ways to improve my optimisation techniques and even how to find out whether it is worth the time and effort.
Howie Schwartz has produced his top 10 web 2.0 money-makers and while yes, I use Squidoo, Hubpages and Wordpress there are some I have never heard about but I will be taking a good look. And Twitter didn't even make the top ten...
Andy Edmonds explains how the concept of "information scent" helps to keep readers on your website and not clicking back to the search engines.
Paul Colligan explains more about RSS syndication and this is an area I must give more attention to. I'd only grade myself at 2 out of 10 at the moment and this article in The Net effect could be just the kick I need to take much more advantage.
I'll tell you more when I've read more of The Net Effect.
Don't Cancel The Net Effect
Don't be hasty and cancel The Net Effect.
StomperNet are too good and they know it.
This was an experiment and I would hate to see so many people cancel that StomperNet withdraw from providing such affordable information in bite sized pieces to the masses.
OK the $800 per month fee for full StomperNet membership is a lot of money but it is the time commitment required to get the most out of it that has held me back more than the cost. You can make the money back quickly with StomperNet's but you can't recoup the time.
For me, The Net Effect is the answer - great information, very well presented and in a way that easily leads to profitable action.
If you missed out, you can start subscribing to The Net Effect. The distribution problems caused the offer to be temporarily withdrawn but i understand it will re-open soon so you can get Stomping the Search Engines and The Net Effect.

Stumble It!

Thanks for posting. I'm in the UK too and was worried my issues had stopped being sent. I may have it today or next week then.
I would agree about not cancelling the subscription - unless you're not going to use the information.
I also am a customer of Russell Brunson's monthly publication and I'm a big fan.
Although one advantage would be that the more people cancel - the easier it is for us ;o)

John
Thanks for your comment.
The Net Effect should be coming soon but StomperNet have had so many problems.
They did a big session with Lynn Terry who is a leading internet marketing blogger and was advocating the Net Effect strongly.

I truly value The Net Effect and am a big fan. Even if you are an avid Internet Marketing Convert, you don't always sit in front of your computer and The Net Effect is a great medium for adding to your online knowledge base. I am not the world's greatest fan of online video and learn much better from reading than from the spoken word - giving away my age here! Sadly, just this week my wife accidentally threw out my Net Effect Vol 1 Issue 1, not realising what a great reference source it is. I hope the guys at stompernet will replace it for me.

Strangely enough I asked about The Net Effect in an email to Stompernet yesterday.
Not yet had a reply.
I certainly hope that it hasn't come to a premature end since the first two editions were excellent.
