Anyone know anything about Ralph Hunter, Magic Money Secrets Ltd and the Magic Money Box?
In my post today was a two fold mailshot from Ralph Hunter telling me I could "Discover how to change your life forever and make a fortune from the Internet."
According to the mailing, Ralph Hunter was penniless a few years ago and now he is a multi-millionaire.
It's promoting a seminar.
But not just any seminar
"This fun and informative seminar will teach you how people with little or no marketing experience are making a full or part time income, working from home on the Internet."
It seems that if you go to the seminar, you'll learn the secrets of THE MAGIC MONEY BOX.
The Internet has been full of get rich quick scams since people discovered you could make money on it. I don't know if this is one.
Even with legitimate training programs, the success rate is not high.
- People buy but don't consume the training
- People consume but don't act.
- People act in a half hearted way.
My experience of making money online is that a small number of people do incredibly well through a combination of luck and hard work (and some times special connections).
Some others do OK but many don't make any worthwhile income.
Call me a cynic but this seminar with Ralph Hunter is being marketed through direct mail (not the Internet you notice) and it seems to have a biz ops theme targeting those who want easy money.
Another bit of copy says
"Fed up with the daily grind where there's never enough money to enjoy the things you really want in life? Are you a small business owner looking to generate more income, recently redundant, unemployed, a struggling parent or maybe just stuck in a dead end job that's taking you nowhere?"
See what I mean about those who want easy money and who will be swayed by the chance to win a Dell laptop (the winner is announced at the final seminar).
A quick check on the internet didn't reveal much about Ralph Hunter or the Magic Money Box.
Magic Money Secrets Ltd has a website - www.magicmoneysecrets.com
And that has an Alexa ranking of 17,272,462 suggesting, according to Alexa, the independent Internet monitoring business part of Amazon that it is within the top 17,500,000 most popular websites in the world.
There are a lot of websites around but 17,272,462 isn't very good. ( This will quickly change since the direct mail campaign is driving traffic to the website - latest Alexa ranking)
This website for example is current ranked at Alexa at 68,680 i.e. one of the top 70,000 most popular websites in the world (latest ranking).
I'm not going to the event and I suggest that you are careful.
I may be unfair but there is little to substantiate any claims of making a fortune online.
How You Can Make Money Online
There are only a few ways that you can make money online.
- To sell physical products online - it's called ecommerce and the classic example is Amazon.
- To sell services online - many service providers have a website which provides a good proportion of their new customers.
- To sell online services - this is helping others to do more online and especially work they don't have the time or inclination to do themselves for example see Let's Get Social
- To sell information products online - you use your specialist knowledge to create a product and market it - like my small business club - you can learn how to create your own info products
- To sell other people's products online as an affiliate - I am using affiliate links in this blog to introduce you to the different options - and you can learn how to make money as an affiliate.
I've given you this brief guide for three reasons:
- To introduce you to the different options so you have more knowledge if you decide to go to the Ralph Hunter event.
- To show you three high quality, low cost training programs - some of the gurus charge $1,997 minimum for a course and I've heard horror stories of people paying £10,000 or more chasing the dream of an easy money making business on the Internet.
- If you buy, I make a small commission as an affiliate. All three products come with a guarantee period so if you're not happy, claim your money back and I don't get a bean.
I was blunt earlier - just like any self improvement - keep fit, dieting, making money - a lot of people buy but don't get the benefits because they don't take action.
Buying can feel good. It can make you feel more in control and give you hope that things will get better. It's only part of the story.
Buying a good program and having the commitment to follow through with actions is what brings in the money.

I wrote this because I was sceptical about what's on offer.
It was sent via direct mail rather than through any kind of Internet marketing.
And when I checked on Alexa, the site of this expert had a tiny amount of traffic.
But I wanted to be open minded. It may be great which is why I said I'd let other people share their views.
