Back in the dim, dark days of early 2008 I took one of the first big courses in social media marketing - before it became the big thing - called Stompernet SMARTS with Don Crowther.
Don is now back with an updated version - now called Social Profit Formula - and he's doing it personally rather than under the Stompernet umbrella.

What I Think About Video 1 For Social Profit Formula
It gets off to a bit of a slow start as Don is keen to give you examples of people making money through social media. I never seem to be impressed with this kind of number calling.
Don Crowther quickly gets into the good stuff as he makes clear that businesses using social media badly appear to be confused on what they are trying to do as they blend business and personal tweets and other messages, treating potential customers as friends (and therefore seeing all the silly stuff) and friends as potential customers.
Don teaches you how you have to get focus for your social media - best to think of a target with a bulls eye and related topics which will also be of interest to your audience and which can pull others into your world.
This is very different from the scatter gun approach from business to personal to sports to news which I've been guilty of and so are many I follow.
Don also recommends a big bias towards information over selling - like a ratio of 50:1 or even better 100:1.
