Mobile Local Fusion was first launched in December 2010 and an updated version has been relaunched at the end of June 2011. If you bought Mobile Local Fusion when it first came out, you should log back into the website as there are some updated videos you need to watch.

Below is my original review of Mobile Local Fusion which gives you details of the training program and coaching Q&A calls.
As I expected, the price has increased from the original $97 to two monthly instalments of $97. I believe this still represents excellent value for the quality and quantity of training. Refund rates have been very low which is good to hear. You'll always get some people who either won't like a training program or will extract the ideas and then get their money back regardless of the value.
Original Mobile Local Fusion Review
Ryan Deiss has done it again with Mobile Local Fusion.
Following quickly after the big success of his partnership with Kate Buck on Let's Get Social (social media marketing) and John Limbocker and Rank Mogul (search engine optimisation), Ryan has teamed up with another expert in local internet marketing.
This time the expert is Laura Betterly who has created Mobile Local Fusion.

What Is Mobile Local Fusion?
Mobile Local Fusion (I don't know why I keep typing Local Mobile Fusion which is wrong) is a nine (update - it is now ten) module video training course to teach you how to build a business selling local Internet services built around Google Maps / Places and Google Mobile.
This is exactly what Laura Betterly does. According to the sales video, she has a very nice living from providing these services to local businesses in the Tampa area of Florida.
Who Is Laura Betterly?
Research shows that Laura has a bit of a reputation online.
She's a longstanding Internet entrepreneur and became known as the Spam Queen through her use of massive email marketing campaigns, albeit on an "ethical" basis.
Fortunately she gave that up and for the last few years, Laura Betterly has been running an Internet marketing agency - Yada Yada Marketing - which offers a full Internet marketing service from Tampa Bay, Florida for small, local businesses.
It's this experience and the development of Google Places and Google Mobile which is the basis for Mobile Local Fusion.
The Local Internet Marketing Opportunity - Is It Really There?
I've said it before, local businesses are hungry for help to get extra sales and customers from the Internet.
Ryan Deiss quotes some high earnings levels per client and I have mixed views.
I hear of businesses getting ripped off because they don't understand this Internet stuff. They are desperate for the extra sales and they know that they are missing out if they don't have an effective presence on the Internet.
That's not the way I recommend you run your business.
You need to be selling value. Charging $500 for services to a client a month is fine if they are making an extra $2,000 to $5,000 profit each month because they can be found on Google. But high fees are not good if they don't recoup their investment in you a multiple of times.
I guess what I'm saying is that the opportunity has to be there to sell the service ethically and to keep clients for the long term. Clients won't keep on paying money for little benefit for long and you don't want a business based on having to keep finding plenty of new customers.
Fortunately intelligent use of the Google keyword tool gives you an indication of who can benefit and who won't.
It's also true that more competition is likely to bid down rates although I still believe you can make a good living from local Internet services if you put the marketing effort in, both online and offline.
I teach my coaching clients how to do SEO, Google Maps and Pay Per Click for themselves but I accept that many more don't want to learn how to do this stuff... they just want someone to do it for them and charge them a fair price based on the extra profit they can make.
That's where the opportunity for a local Internet marketing expert comes from - people who are too busy or don't want to know how to do it themselves.

Using Mobile Local Fusion To Learn About Local Mobile
If you don't want to be a local Internet marketing expert, you can see Mobile Local Fusion as a course to teach yourself how to use Google Maps / Places and Google Mobile in your own business.
That's effectively the reason why I invested in Mobile Local Fusion.
I don't want to have a done for you marketing services business but I do want to be able to give my clients up-to-date advice on Google Maps / Places and Google Mobile which will stand comparison to the done for your services available.
I also want to make sure that my own business uses best practices on this stuff.
What's In Mobile Local Fusion?
There are nine (now ten) video training modules in Mobile Local Fusion
- Understanding the local landscape
- Google Local overview
- Going Mobile
- How your clients make money
- Outsourcing the work
- Getting clients
- Managing client expectations
- Managing your business
- Crazy opportunity in the future
- Local and competitive
The videos are done so you can go through the Mobile Local Fusion course at your own pace and each module also comes with pdfs and an mp3 version for you to download and listen on your iPod.
There are also demonstration videos where the training gets technical to show you exactly how to do these things.
For example on the module 3 of Mobile Local Fusion, there are extra videos for:
How to make a qu code
How to use AdMob
Mobile landing page WP
MoFuse Online Site Maker
Other modules also have extra technical videos to show you how to do the stuff needed to make it work for your own business or the businesses of your clients.
Mobile Local Fusion Review
I went through the Mobile Local Forum content with great interest and it opened my eyes to the opportunities that are available if businesses take action.
I've played with Google Places for my own business and help clients to claim their free listings which is pretty simple if competition is low. It gets tougher as more suppliers claim their page. To get the big benefits from Google Places, you need to be in the first few listings shown on page 1 of Google.
What I hadn't thought about was the link with Mobile Marketing and how it can boost local businesses like restaurants and stores.
The training modules are based around a Powerpoint style presentations with Laura giving more details. Each is short and concise as is common with Ryan Deiss training. This lack of fluff and padding is something I love. I hate it when some gurus take 15 minutes of content and flesh it out to 60 minutes to justify the cost because I do recommend going through the training several times. As your knowledge increases, you'll pick up on subtle nuances you missed the first time.
Mobile Local Fusion is well put together and designed and comes with plenty of extra resources to help you make Mobile Local work for you.
For those who are not interested in the "becoming the local internet marketing expert" side of Mobile Local Fusion, the core is in modules 2 and 3.
Module 2 Mobile Local Fusion - Getting To The Top of Google Local
- How to create your Google dashboard
- How to claim your clients pages on Google, Yahoo & Bing
- Enhancing your listing with rich content
- How to ping your maps listing to your places page
- Using mobile coupons.
- How to get your own QR Code
- SEO with citations & directories
- Ninja review tricks and methods
Module #3 Mobile Local Fusion - Going Mobile:
- How people search via mobile
- How to dominate mobile search results
- How to create instant mobile landing pages
- Mobile list-building secrets
- Customer autoresponders via SMS
- Mobile coupon marketing
- Creating QR codes for coupons
- Short code marketing methods for local
- Gathering stats from your Google dashboard
- Google advertising for mobile
- Adwords for mobile
- Google Boost
- Click to call secrets
- Beyond Google – the other networks
- Landing page builders
- Mobile apps creation for dummies
- Paid traffic for local mobile
- SMS opt-ins
- Other mobile ninja tricks…
As you can see, this is a comprehensive training program and in my opinion great value at the initial launch price of $97. I won't be surprised to see it increase to $197 or more to better reflect the value contained in Mobile Local Fusion (Update - the price of the program has increased to two monthly payments of $97 - it was too good a deal at the lower price and I've seen other people say the price should be $497 or even $997. Not sure about that but the 2 * $97 seems a fair price to me )
For earlybird buyers, you also get the chance to join Laura in some coaching calls where you get the chance to ask her questions in areas you are stuck on or don't understand.
Update - When I first wrote my Mobile Local Fusion review, Laura Betterly hadn't started the coaching calls so I was unsure of the value. Now I can tell you that I am very impressed with Laura's commitment to sharing her knowledge. Many of these Q&A calls are three hours long. They are marathon sessions but very informative. I didn't get the feeling that she was holding back. Like all Q&A calls, some people ask strange questions but others ask things that you want to know, even though you hadn't recognised the need to know.
What I Don't Like About Mobile Local Fusion
If I was in the market wanting to be a local Internet marketing expert, I'd feel that the product is too affordable. I wouldn't want it to be a "no-brainer" for my competitors and even potential customers to buy. The price point means a lot of people will get it.
I like videos and mp3s but I'm also a big reader and find it faster to get the information that way so I'd have liked to have seen transcripts of the presentations and the Q&A calls. You do get pdfs of the presentation slides which act as useful summaries. This is me nit-picking but it does mean that time to get through all the Mobile Local Fusion materials is significant and shouldn't be underestimated.
This is not a watch and do in a day program unless you ignore the coaching calls and you just want to implement Google Places and Mobile, in which case you can do it in a short, intensive period.
Who Should Buy Mobile Local Fusion?
Anyone interested in becoming a local Internet marketing expert or who is already working as one should take a look at Mobile Local Fusion.
At this price it is a steal compared to the value of learning just one tip you put into action - after all one extra client, one extra transaction or a price increase and you get your money back immediately.
I'd also say that any marketing consultant/coach working with small businesses should take a look at Mobile Local Fusion. It's much too easy to dismiss ideas like mobile marketing as either overblown hype or only for big companies. This course will give you more information and ideas about how these techniques can be applied.
Mobile Local Fusion has convinced me that small businesses need this knowledge.
The third group of people who should look at the product are Internet savvy local businesses. If you can do it yourself with some training and you've got the time to do it, then why pay someone else?
Who Shouldn't Buy Mobile Local Fusion?
If you're happy with your current Google Places results and you don't want to learn about mobile marketing and you're not interested in being a local Internet marketing expert, then I'm surprised you're still reading. Ignore Mobile Local Fusion - it's not for you.
The other BIG problem with the program is...
Mobile Local Fusion will tell you what to do and how to do it.
It even tells you how to outsource the work.
But it doesn't make it happen on its own - you need to take action.
Dreamers should keep their credit card in their wallets. Too many people buy training courses and books and never work through the contents or implement the ideas.
If you've got a habit of buying stuff and not finishing the course, then before you invest in Mobile Local Fusion, ask yourself what's different this time. If nothing is, don't buy because you're wasting more money.
If you do feel this is an opportunity you will act on, then set yourself two goals (in writing).
The first is to finish the course by (insert date)
The second is to develop an action plan for ideas that you will implement by (insert date).
I am an affiliate and I do get paid a commission on sales through my links but I'd rather you saved your money if you're not going to get value.
Beware of being tempted to buy it because of affiliate bonuses. In my experience these are often more of a distraction than a help because they give you more stuff to go through, more reasons to delay taking action, more guilt for not getting stuff done... basically I think they are often bad news, even if they appear irresistible.
There is plenty in Mobile Local Fusion to keep you going and the Q&A calls in particular are very extensive.
In these days of information overload, I always like the thought from Rich Schefren - when is getting more the solution to having too much?
Is There An Upsell For Mobile Local Fusion?
This is Ryan Deiss, of course there is an upsell.
There's a tools package to help you to implement the ideas in Mobile Local Fusion faster and a new monthly continuity program for those who want to stay on the cutting edge of what's new in mobile and local marketing. Based on what I've seen of Laura's commitment in the first Q&A calls, I would expect this to offer plenty of value.
If you're going to start a local internet marketing business, then you need to know about Google Maps / Places and Google Mobile, SEO and social media marketing - I'd also say you should know about pay per click marketing too - if only to help your credibility with clients and to offer a comprehensive service. You don't want anyone else muscling in on your clients by offering a closely related service.
That means you should also consider two other products from Ryan Deiss if you don't already have the necessary knowledge - Let's Get Social (with Kate Buck on being a social media manager) and Rank Mogul (on SEO with John Limbocker).
Check Out The Mobile Local Fusion Guarantee
Ryan and Laura have gone over the top on the guarantee - or should I say triple guarantee putting their own money behind the success of Mobile local Fusion.
I'll let you catch the video for the details but let's just say, if you're still sitting on the fence afterwards, then Mobile Local Fusion isn't for you because you won't have the get up and go to create a successful local Internet business.
Even if you think you know this stuff, the combination of the bargain price and the triple guarantee means that you need to check this out for any extra tips and tricks. As more people get to know about Google Places, the more you'll need to do to keep at the top of the list.

Affiliate Disclosure For Mobile Local Fusion
I am an affiliate for Ryan Deiss and if you click through from my link and then buy, i will earn a commission.
I recommend Ryan's programs because they are consistently of a high quality and I find his company very easy to deal with. I was one of Ryan's early affiliates and have been given access to his monthly membership site, the Total Access Club. this means I've seen a lot of Ryan's trainings and I can tell you, he is the real deal.
However you shouldn't just take my word for it. You should always do your own due diligence when thinking about buying a training program like Mobile Local Fusion.
Only buy it if you believe this is something that you will take action on and implement, either in your own business or you do want to build a local internet business. Make a note of when the guarantee expires and take a considered decision - have you had value? If not, make sure you claim your money back.

I'd appreciate the commission and it helps support someone who gives you a good review without resorting to hype.
Local Internet Marketing Group
I want to set up a mastermind group for local Internet marketers so if you've bought Mobile Local Fusion, Let's Get Social, Rank Mogul or any of the other training programs that help you set yourself up as a local Internet marketing expert, then this will be ideal to share ideas with like minded people.
After the first 4 weeks there will be a small charge to pay for my facilitation and advice but you can try it for free and see the value it brings to you.
I currently run a mastermind for coaches and it is both a lot of fun and very valuable to work with a small number of people you trust.
Maximum of seven people only and no people who are directly competing against each other unless the first person in the group is happy [sometimes it can be useful to put on joint events etc and especially if you have different strengths and preferences about the work you do.]
For more details fill in your name and email below.

Ha, I'm already seeing searches for Mobile Local Fusion scam.
Look this is a $97 training product from a very well known Internet marketer and with a triple guarantee.
If you try Mobile Local Fusion and don't believe it's worth the modest amount being charged, get your money back.

Hi,
Just wanted to say thank you for your review. After finding three stock reviews on three unrelated sites I was losing interest in the product.
Your efforts and personal opinion are very much appreciated!
Posted by: Louie | January 21, 2011 at 12:27 AM
Louie, thanks for your comment.
I hate those fake review sites were there's either no detail or the writer gushes over the product. I also hate it when they rate higher than me in Google.
I try to present a fair case. Sure I want affiliate sales for Local Mobile Fusion but I only want people to buy if they will use it and benefit from it.

I really do think Ryan Deiss is a master at pitching products and this is a great training program too. A pretty irresistible combination which will see a lot of buyers for Mobile Local Fusion.

Paul,
This is a great report on Mobile Local Fusion - thank you! I bought the course when it first came out and it is fantastic value.
I have already made lots of $s by just implementing some of the ideas for a handful clients, so I have made my money back times over.
I'm not a techie either, so it just goes to show how simple this is to do or how simple it would be to outsource also.
I would recommend it to anyone as long as they intend to USE it - as you so rightly pointed out!
Thanks again for the great, balanced info on a genuinely good value product.

Information has been sent out to the Ryan Deiss affiliates that Mobile Local Fusion will be closing on Monday July 12th.
Will it? Maybe, maybe not but if you think it's relevant to you, I think it shows that you should take action sooner rather than later.
Personally I hope it's an evergreen product like some of the other Ryan Deiss programs because I prefer you to get stuff just in time rather than just in case.
You get the benefits from programs like Mobile Local Fusion by applying the ideas and not just buying the program.

Hi Paul,
I am very interested in this program. So your saying it is of good value, they are legit,
etc.
thanks,

Ryan Deiss said that Mobile Local Fusion was going to close and I've just checked - it is closed ...
"because a big part of the Mobile Local Fusion training is LIVE coaching and we want everyone who took action and purchased it to get 100% of the information and experience Mobile Local Fusion is now CLOSED."
If you missed out on Mobile Local Fusion and Laura Betterly's coaching, then I recommend you put your name on the waiting list.
I am sure that Mobile Local Fusion will open again because it has been a huge success.

I've heard from Ryan Deiss and Mobile Local Fusion will open again.
This is what he says in the email I have just received.
"Laura Betterly and I are re-opening Mobile Local Fusion for a very short period of time!
Why?
Because after the dust cleared we found quite a few duplicate orders and declines."
No clear time limits and the impression I have is that there is some pent-up demand.
https://touchstone.infusionsoft.com/go/MLF/a271
Even if Mobile Local Fusion goes away again, I do expect it to come back because the program has been such a big success.
