In 2010 Ryan Deiss and Kate Buck had big success with Let's Get Social, special training in how to become a social media manager and earn money by providing social media services to small local businesses.
Now in March 2011 it's back, the new improved Let's Get Social 2.0

Feedback was generally very positive - there are always a few whingers and some people find that the training isn't for them, either in content or style.
I've never done this before but I want to share with you my affiliate statistics for the first Let's Get Social.
In total I sold to 60 people, 10 of whom got their money back under the guarantee.
I tell you this for three reasons:
- Let's Get Social has been a very popular program
- It doesn't suit everybody. I don't know why people demanded the money back but I'd guess it is split between a) those who don't think that being a social media manager is for them after listening to the training b) those who don't like the style of the training or don't think it's worth the price and c) those who buy stuff intending to get their money back after they've picked up the goodies from the training - yes I'm sure there are people like that.
- It's OK to try it. Only you can decide if Let's Get Social is a good opportunity for you.
- Ryan Deiss does provide refunds. Search on the Internet and you will find some people have service problems. That's inevitable with popular stuff but I've always found the Ryan Deiss organisation good to deal with.
Let's Get Social is one of a series of short courses from Ryan Deiss - others include Rank Mogul and Mobile Local Fusion - which can help you to start and build a business as a local Internet marketing consultant.
What I particularly like about his small courses is that they are so concise. I bet you've bought other programs that are bloated with irrelevant details and which are an ego trip for the creator but a pain for the buyer. And I bet you've got bored and given up before you get the benefits so you've never received a return on your investment.
That's the classic problem - too much information holds you back from taking profitable action. It wastes your time and makes the task seem bigger than it needs to be, increasing the chance of procrastination.
Ryan's courses aren't like that. These and others like the Video Salesletter Formula and Facebook Ad Power are "in the moment" - you can watch them quickly, takke action and come back to watch them again in teh time it takes to get half way through many courses.
This will make a huge difference to your success since you can learn so much by doing. It's also why I am such a sceptic of bonuses which confuse and distract you. They sound great but they don't help you to move forward quickly and purposefully.
The Core Question About Let's Get Social 2.0
Can you add a social media income stream to your business?
Kate Buck does very well out of it and social media is still hot at the moment.
The views I hear from small business owners are mixed.
There are some big advocates and some big critics.
Those who do a lot of social media seem to do well out of it. Those who dabble with little strategy or purpose are wasting their time.
That's where the outsourcing/professional service opportunity comes in.
Business owners want the results that social media can give them but often don't want to spend the time doing it themselves. Either they are too busy or not very social.
I'm a bit of a sceptic. I use twitter the most followed by LinkedIn. I don't get the attraction of Facebook. I blow hot and cold on forums.
Being a social media manager isn't for me but I do see the value in social media activities and I'm jealous when I hear some of the success stories that come through.
I think a lot of professionals and small business owners think in the same way and that's where the opportunity lies. - with people who want the benfits but are money rich, time poor.
If you enjoy spending time on the social media networks and you'd like to get paid for interacting with people, I recommend that you watch the Let's Get Social video and if it feels right and you can comfortably afford to spend the money, give it a try.
Only you can decide if Let's Get Social is right for you.
