So President Obama and his family have made the important decision. The first dog of the US for the next four years at least will be Bo, a Portugese Water Dog.
And what a sweetie he is.
But the talk had been about President Obama adopting a rescue dog while Bo turns out to be a gift from Senator Kennedy.
It seems that Bo was returned by his first owners - difficult to believe looking at him but perhaps he has a few bad habits - will President Obama's slippers be safe?
To be fair, we know that the first dog had to be hypoallergenic which must have made the search very difficult.
The animal rights group PETA weren't pleased but what do you think?
The demand for Portugese Water Dogs is bound to increase
so see Wikipedia and the Portugese Water Dog Club of Great Britain website if you want more information.
