Eight Pillars Of Business Prosperity
My business coaching approach is built around "The Eight Pillars Of Business Prosperity".
I believe that there are eight core elements or pillars to any business:
- Your Critical Numbers and the way you measure and manage the performance and results across your all the functions of your business. Your critical measures provide the performance benchmark for any future business development ideas.
- Your Vision and the way that it is translated into Goals and Priorities that allow you to proactively manage your Time and the time of your employees.
- Your Market Position and how you find profitable opportunities and differentiate yourself from your competitors.
- Creating More Leads by attracting more prospective customers.
- Converting Leads Into Customers.
- Making More Sales To Existing Customers.
- Leading Your Team.
- Systematising Your Business.
Let me explain.
One of the definitions I use for business coaching is that it is a process for helping you to get from where you are to where you want to be.
So Pillar 1, Your Critical Numbers establishes where you are both at the start of the coaching assignment and all the way through it.
Pillar 2, Your Vision, Goals, Priorities and Time Management identifies where you want to go and sets a broad outline of how you are going to get there. Time Management is an essential skill for any entrepreneur or business manager and fits naturally within a section that includes goals and priorities.
Having defined where you want to go, Pillar 3 Your Market Position looks at whether your vision is possible in terms of the business opportunity and helps you to identify what you have to do to avoid or beat your competitors.
After you define your target market, the coaching naturally flows into the next three pillars:
- How you will Create More Leads,
- How you will Convert Leads Into Customers and
- How you will Make More Sales To Existing Customers.
To summarise Pillars 1 and 2 look at how you get from where you are to where you want to be and Pillars 3 to 6 look at the market opportunity and how you can increase your revenue.
Your business development can't stop there. Pillars 7 and 8 look at your business from an internal perspective and how you make your vision happen.
Pillar 7 Leading Your Team improves the way you lead, manage, recruit and retain your team of employees.
Pillar 8 Systematising Your Business recognises that no matter how good your team, you must have effective processes, policies and procedures to deliver a high level of customer service regularly and reliably.
There you have it - The Eight Pillars Of Business Prosperity.
Its focus is on improving your business, pure and simple and is a distillation of everything that I have learnt from experience, my formal qualifications and gurus including Jay Abraham, Michael Gerber, Jay Conrad Levinson, Brian Tracy, Chet Holmes, Peter Thomson, Rich Schefren, Michael Porter, Brian Warnes, Bradley Gale...
