When you start a new business, you are normally told by many people that business networking is the way to meet people and find clients.
Unfortunately things often don't work out quite as expected.
Common Frustrations With Business Networking
- It is very time consuming
- The costs can quickly add up if you join a networking group with memberships and meals.
- Your target clients don't go to networking events.
So Is Business Networking Worthwhile?
Yes, networking can be a great way to attract leads but it all depend on what you do and who you do it with.
Networking done badly will waste your time and money but done well, you can build strong business and personal relationships which create a consistent flow of leads.
Personally I prefer to work with customer referrals since the recommendations mean so much more and I always ask when I'm given a name "Are you a customer?"
