Every time I watch the news it seems that there are more problems in the world economy which will put many businesses under severe pressure.
The obvious route to take when markets are under pressure is to cut costs and if you haven't already done so, I urge you to look at the analysis of your costs and identify any that are unnecessary or not providing you with value for money. Then take the appropriate action.

You Can Only Cut Costs So Far
I have just found this quote from Jan Carlzon's excellent book "Moments of Truth" which I am re-reading.
"We realised that SAS had already cut costs to the bone. Continuing to cut would have been like hitting the brakes of a car already standing still. You might push your foot through the floor of the car and cause permanent damage. Indeed the only solution for SAS's predicament was to increase revenue."
But How Do You Increase Revenue In a Tough Economy?
Not by doing more of what you are already doing but by doing different things.
