- Ask to speak to the main decision maker. If you don’t ask, you don’t get. Your sales message will be passed along channels and you’ll miss vital information.
- When you make your telephone call, be ready to cover the 3 essential “need to know’s” – 1) the purpose of the meeting – what will the other person gain? 2) how long the meeting will take and 3) who else will be coming from your business
- Base the meeting on something of importance to the boss – a solution to a pressing problem he or she has
- Give the boss reasons to justify why it’s worth spending valuable time with you – back it up with referrals, testimonials, logic etc
