At that point, the business owner starts to lose control over everything that is happening and has to start managing the team instead of doing everything.
Some people are much easier to manage than others.
In particular some people appear to be much more motivated to do a good job for the business and to earn more profit than they are paid in salaries, benefits and compulsory add-ons.
Motivated people make management easy. Unmotivated people are much harder to work with.
That inevitably focuses attention of how can you motivate someone who doesn't have their own in-built motivation to do a great job?
