I just thought that I would check my Google ranking for "business coaching" and I saw a PR release from Brad Sugar's business coaching firm Action Coach saying:
"ActionCOACH is the world’s number one business coaching and executive
coaching firm, with more than 1,000 offices in 26 countries."
I always smile when I see this claim and it sure sounds impressive doesn't it?
But is it true?

AdviCoach is a new name to me but they are bringing their business coaching franchise over to the UK and Ireland.
The press release says that AdviCoach have awarded the first international Master's License to John Culliney who will be opening an office in Dublin, Ireland, targeting Ireland and Britain and will be awarding additional AdviCoach) franchise opportunities.

Browsing around the web I found this interview with Michael Gerber, author of The E Myth Revisited. It is billed as 15 minutes but it is actually 21.5 minutes long.
It is a while since I listened to Michael Gerber but it occurs to me that the fallacy of the entrepreneur and the problem of working in the business and not working on the business is even more relevant in today's recessionary times.
This interview does have a leaning towards franchising and Michael Gerber makes it clear that entrepreneurs make very poor franchisees. That's because the franchisee is the manager or technician (in E Myth terms) because the franchisee is buying a job.
